Leigh Stovall is a dedicated educator and school counselor with more than 25 years of experience supporting middle school students in both top-tier and Title I schools. She currently serves as a school counselor at Alabama Virtual Academy and has expertise in student advocacy, MTSS, 504 coordination, mentoring, advisory curriculum development, and school-wide student support systems.
She holds a Master of Education in School Counseling, National Board Certifications in History/Social Studies Early Adolescence, a Master of Education in Special Education: Emotional and Behavioral Disorders K–12, and a Bachelor of Science in Education in Social Science.
From 2007–2021, Leigh served as a 7th Grade Civics and Geography teacher at Hewitt-Trussville Middle School, while also supporting administration through mentoring initiatives and collaboration with counselors and school leadership. Since 2017, she has worked as a consultant with Jack Berckemeyer Consulting Group, contributing to middle level education initiatives and advisory programming.
Leigh is a passionate advocate for middle school advisory and student support programs. In her role as a counselor, she has created comprehensive advisory lessons for grades 6–8. Her leadership experience also includes serving as a Co-Facilitator and Team Member for the MidDel Middle School Advisory Curriculum with Mid-Del Schools and the Hawai’i Middle Level Advisory Guide in 2024. She has been an active member of the American School Counselor Association since 2019.
