Paul Destino loves being principal of Mayfield Middle School because he gets to interact daily with kids and considers the most important part of his job is to create a culture that is child-centered and a climate where staff are encouraged to make their own decisions. His leadership style allows his staff a level of comfort and empowerment to do their jobs well. Paul also serves on the board for the Ohio Middle Level Association (since 2002) and is no stranger to professional development conferences where he organizes the annual OMLA PD events. We are excited that he will be sharing his insights on leadership at our conference.
Prior to coming to Mayfield Middle school in 2006, Paul was an Assistant Principal at Wiley Middle School and a middle school teacher at Monticello Middle School, both in the Cleveland Heights/University Heights School District. He received his bachelor’s degree in education and a graduate degree in administration from John Carroll University.
