Dr. Sharon Faber is an internationally recognized speaker and consultant with more than 35 years of experience as a teacher, building and central office administrator, university professor, and staff development trainer. She has presented keynotes and seminars at district, state, national, and international conferences and is noted for her high energy level, the practicality of her content, and her humorous delivery. She is a literacy expert and senior literacy advisor for Modern Red Schoolhouse. Sharon motivates and inspires teachers and administrators everywhere she speaks.
During her years in education, she has taught almost every grade level. She has been an assistant principal, principal, English and Reading Supervisor, Director of Leadership Training, and Middle School Facilitator. She was a professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Belmont Abbey College. She has advanced degrees (masters and doctorate) in Educational Leadership.
Sharon is also an author with extensive works in the areas of literacy and leadership. This includes journal articles and the best-selling books, How to Teach Reading When You Are Not a Reading Teacher and How to Teach Academic Vocabulary.
Sharon is married to Conrad Faber, and together they have four children and four grandchildren. They live in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
