Beth Skelton has a longtime fascination with the process of language acquisition, and is passionate about methods that build comprehension and engage all learners. She is especially zealous about enhancing the achievement of English language learners.
Beth has taught German, English, and ESL (and some science and humanities as well) at most grade levels and in many places (including much time spent in international locations). She served as the English as an Additional Language Coordinator for the Bavarian International School near Munich, Germany. Beth has worked as a consultant for ESL internationally and nationally, providing staff development, coaching, and program development for schools—training educators in strategies that make meaningful, long-lasting improvements in instruction and achievement of ESL learners. She is the author of student and teacher materials for ESL, entitled Putting it Together, which incorporate the TPR Storytelling method.
Beth is the proud mother of a trilingual daughter. Some of her non-academic interests include: playing marimba, hiking mountains with and without trails to the top, cross country skiing by the light of a full moon, creating new recipes with vegetables from her organic garden, discussing novels with the women in her book club started 19 years ago….
